Rayong celebrates its local produce with a market fair and music

The very best in tropical fruit is shaken and stirred in an effervescent blend of world music at "Seesan Rayong" that's being staged at the town's Tapong Fruit Market from May 15 to 19.


The event is being held as part of the annual fruit festival, which continues through June 3.


Among the performers are Northern lass Lanna Commins, luk thung star Sunaree Ratchasima, world music stalwart Todd Thongdee, rock's The Sis, Isaan's Pee Saderd, ska reggae outfit Kai-Jo Brothers, ranad player Khun In, Chinese whiz kids Li Hui and Li Yang and a group of ethnic Chong.


Punters can also enjoy a parade, beauty contests, fruit contests, the distribution of freshly-picked fruits, Otop products and local handicrafts as well as exhibitions of photos about the province.


The fair is designed to promote and market fruits and other products made from fruits as well as local seafood.
